PDS itself is a program which assigned lecturers in schools to foster schools so there is harmony between schools and universities. According to Widya Ratna Kusumaningrum, S.Pd., M.Pd., M.Ed., one background of the PDS program is that there is a large gap between schools and universities. Some courses that use blended learning are Public Speaking, Quantitative Research Methods in Language Education, and Student Development. Furthermore, courses which are online courses are Introduction to Education and the Education Profession. Courses that use open learning are Educational Statistics, Educational Psychology, Entrepreneurship, and Qualitative Research Methods.
