Universitas Muhammadiyah Jakarta menjadi tuan rumah bagi dua helatan yang diselenggarakan pada hari Jumat dan Sabtu, 28-29 Juli 2017 tersebut. Salah satu tim delegasi berasal dari FKIP UNTIDAR, Magelang yaitu Moch. Malik Al Firdaus, M.Pd selaku Korprodi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris (PBI) dan Candradewi W Anggraini, M.Pd selaku Gugus Penjamin Mutu PBI.

Pada kesempatan yang merupakan pertemuan tahunan Program Studi, selanjutnya disebut Prodi, Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris seluruh Indonesia tersebut dibahas berbagai macam hal terkait dengan perkembangan keilmuan yang menyangkut prodi. Diantaranya adalah pembahasan intensif pada empat divisi di APSPBI yaitu Divisi Jurnal, Divisi Humas, Divisi Kebijakan Pendidikan, dan Divisi Pengembangan Organisasi dengan fokus pengembangan asosiasi dalam konteks regional.

APSPBI telah memiliki sebuah jurnal OJS yaitu English Language Teaching and Research Journal (ELTR) yang difokuskan pada metodologi pengajaran, kurikulum, peningkatan profesionalitas guru, dan area seputar kajian pendidikan. Pada pertemuan tahunan tersebut ditekankan kembali pentingnya sumbangsih dari setiap prodi anggota bagi perkembangan jurnal ELTR melalui naskah. Selain hal tersebut dibahas juga signifikansi sharing of best practices sehingga diharapkan terjadinya peningkatan kualitas dan mutu terkait prodi diantaranya percepatan studi, bimbingan skripsi, dan kuliah unggulan.

Candradewi menyatakan bahwa pertemuan tahunan APSPBI yang baru pertamakali diikutinya tersebut membawa manfaat yang sangat besar bagi penataan dan pengembangan prodi PBI di FKIP UNTIDAR untuk mencapai mutu yang diharapkan dari berbagai aspek karena secara langsung anggota delegasi dari setiap prodi PBI dari berbagai Universitas di Indonesia dapat berinteraksi dan saling update tren termutakhir dalam dunia Prodi PBI di tempat masing-masing sehingga nantinya kualitas di FKIP UNTIDAR khususnya tidak tertinggal dari Prodi PBI Universitas lain di Indonesia.

Pada kesempatan yang sama Candradewi juga menambahkan beberapa catatan penting yang dapat diambil dari Workshop on Autonomous Learning and Teaching through Literature bersama Andrzej Cirocki, Ph. D. dari University of York diantaranya adalah mengenai konsep Learmer Autonomy yang disesuaikan dengan konteks pembelajaran bahasa Inggris dengan mengaplikasikan teknologi informasi serta desain aktivitas pembelajaran melalui karya sastra dengan menerapkan konsep tersebut melalui outline activities. “Workshop tersebut sangat bagus karena peserta workshop mendapat penjelasan komprehensif mengenai pentingnya Autonomous Learning” tutupnya. Muhammadiyah University of Jakarta hosted two big events  on Friday to Saturday, 28-29 July 2017. FETT UNTIDAR sent two representatives, they were Moch. Malik Al Firdaus, M.Pd as Coordinator Study Program of English Language Education and Candradewi Wahyu Anggraeni, M.Pd as Gugus Penjamin Mutu of English Language Education Study Program.

In the annual meeting of English Language Education Study Program, many aspects were discussed that related to the development of study program. The discussion covered four divisions in APSPBI that consisted of Division of Journal, Division of Public Relation, Division of Education Policy, and Division of Organization Development by focusing on the development of association in regional context.

APSPBI has had Open Journal System (OJS) named English Language Teaching and Research Journal (ELTR) that concerned on the teaching methods, curriculum, teachers professional development, and educational aspects. In the events, it was highlighted that it was important for the members of APSPBI to take part in the development of ELTR journal by sending their research articles. Furthermore, there was a discussion about the significance of best practices sharing, so it was hoped to get the quality improvement that related to study program such as  study acceleration, thesis supervision, and excellent lectures.

Candradewi said that the annual meeting APSPBI was the first meeting that she joined gave her great benefits for the development of English Language Education Study Program in FETT UNTIDAR in order to get the achieved quality from many aspects.  Moreover, the representatives of each English Language Education Study Program from many universities in Indonesia were able to share information about English Language Education Study Program field. Therefore, the quality of FETT UNTIDAR would be better like another English Language Education Study Program in another university in Indonesia.

She asserted that there were many important notes of Workshop on Autonomous Learning and Teaching through Literature with Andrzej Cirocki, Ph. D. from University of York. The notes covered the concept of Learner Autonomy that was focused on the context of English learning by applying the technology and the designs of learning activities via literatures by applying the concept through outline activities. “The workshop is awesome due to workshop participants get comprehensive explanation toward the importance of Autonomous Learning” she added.
