Project-based learning is a learning approach that involves students in problem solving activities and also gives opportunity for them in learning autonomously, constructs their own learning, and as the result they will be able to produce their realistic creation. Furthermore, lesson study is a method that enhances the learning quality that was initiated by teachers in Japan, then started to be adapted in Indonesia through the JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) program. It was conducted by the teachers collaboratively, by following some principles, such as designing learning for reaching the learning purposes, implementing learning, observing the learning implementation, as well as doing reflection for discussing the next planning for the learning improvement. The main focus of the lesson study implementation is the students’ involvement in the learning activity in class. Finally, the implementation of project-based learning through this lesson study makes the students easier in understanding the material, their level of confidence increases, students’ involvement increase, and provide more value about empathy and encourage students in group working.
