Awal tahun saatnya mencari pengalaman. Pernyataan ini agaknya sangat cocok bagi mahasiswa Universitas Tidar dan juga 4 mahasiswa Iloilo Science and Technology University, Filipina yang datang ke UNTIDAR. Selasa 15 Januari 2019, 4 mahasiswa Filipina yang bernama Danica F. Naorbe, Voline C. Echaveria, Shiela Calapillo, dan Lovely Lobreguito datang ke UNTIDAR. Danica dan Voline yang mengikuti program SEA TEACHER akan mengajar di SMP N 1 Magelang pada mata pelajaran Bahasa Inggris dan Biologi selama 1 bulan. Adapun Shiela dan Lovely yang bergabung dengan program SEA TVET, mengobservasi dan akan berlatih sebagai frontliners di Resort Rumah Dharma, Borobudur.

SEA TEACHER (Southeast Asian Teacher) dan SEA TVET (Southeast Asian Technical Vocational Education and Training) adalah dua program yang bernaung di bawah SEAMEO (Southeast Asian Ministers of Education) dengan program pertukaran mahasiswa antar negara di Asia Tenggara. Kedua program ini bertujuan untuk memberikan kesempatan kepada mahasiswa Asia untuk mendapat pengalaman internasional secara langsung.

Keempat mahasiswa ini, akan tinggal di Magelang dan berbaur bersama mahasiswa UNTIDAR yang lain. “Program yang bagus, jadi kami mahasiswa dapat kesempatan buat berinteraksi dengan mahasiswa dari negara lain tanpa harus main ke luar negeri. Dan juga, mempelajari budaya dan kebiasaan mereka adalah pengalaman yang berharga,” ungkap Muhammad Rauuf Oktavian Nur, mahasiswa PBI UNTIDAR yang juga berkesempatan untuk menjadi tuan rumah bagi mahasiswa Filipina selama di Magelang. Four students from Iloilo Science and Technology University, Philippines came to UNTIDAR. On Tuesday January 15, 2019, 4 Filipino students named Danica F. Naorbe, Voline C. Echaveria, Shiela Calapillo, and Lovely Lobreguito came to UNTIDAR. Danica and Voline who participated in the SEA TEACHER program will teach English and Biology subjects at SMP N 1 Magelang for 1 month. On the other hand, Shiela and Lovely, who joined the SEA TVET program, will observe and practice as frontliners at Rumah Dharma Resort, Borobudur.

SEA TEACHER (Southeast Asian Teacher) and SEA TVET (Southeast Asian Technical Vocational Education and Training) are two programs under the auspices of the SEAMEO (Southeast Asian Ministers of Education) with student exchange programs between countries in Southeast Asia. Both of these programs aim to provide opportunities for Asian students to gain direct international experience.

Those four students will stay in Magelang and mingle with other UNTIDAR students. “A good program, so we, the students have the opportunity to interact with students from other countries without going abroad. Besides, learning about their culture and habits is a valuable experience, “said Muhammad Rauuf Oktavian Nur, the student of English Education Study Program UNTIDAR who also has got an opportunity to host Filipino students while in Magelang.
